A homeowner in Glen Echo, MD, was concerned about sloping floors above their crawl space. Upon inspection, we discovered that the floors were being supported by wooden beams and 4x4s, which had deteriorated over time due to moisture in the crawl space. This compromised the structural integrity of the support system, leading to uneven floors. To resolve the issue, we installed a supplemental steel beam and SmartJacks to stabilize and lift the floors back to their original position. The result was a level, secure floor and a crawl space with a reliable support system. The homeowner was thrilled with the outcome and relieved to have a long-term solution in place.
The homeowner expressed concern about persistent dampness in their house, especially after discovering significant mold buildup in two recently cleaned ducts. Our technical advisor swiftly addressed the issue by recommending the installation of a vapor barrier system in the crawlspace and a Sani dry system. These solutions would effectively eliminate mold and prevent the recurrence of damp air, ensuring a safe and healthy home environment for the family.
