A homeowner in Washington, DC, contacted us, deeply concerned about water infiltrating their finished basement in an eighty-year-old house. They reported significant issues: bubbling painted walls, water accumulation on the floors, and a persistent smell of mold and mildew, emphasizing their desire for a dry and secure basement space.
Our technical advisor promptly visited the property for a comprehensive inspection.
The water damage to the basement was found to be quite severe, prompting us to propose a durable and fully warrantied solution to address their concerns. During the demolition phase, our production team uncovered extensive moisture penetration in the cinderblock walls of the basement. To combat this, we implemented our Waterguard system a trench drain solution designed to redirect any future water seepage away from the basement via the Super Sump pump and out of the property. Additionally, we installed a CleanSpace vapor barrier to block mold and bacteria, significantly lowering humidity levels in the basement. This system was complemented by the Sanidry Dehumidifier to ensure maximum protection against moisture.
Furthermore, to address water ingress through the basement windows, we upgraded the well drains with an improved drainage system. The customer was thrilled with the transformation, looking forward to renovating their basement once more, now safeguarded against water damage.
