This Annandale, VA basement waterproofing project involved a basement unit condo that had severe water damage, mold concerns, and a strong musty odor. Water was entering the unit from a poorly constructed window well and from beneath the foundation slab, creating ongoing moisture problems and making the space difficult for the community to rent. Before the repair, the unit was damp, unhealthy, and not ready for occupancy.
After completing a full inspection, NV Waterproofing & Foundation Repair designed a permanent basement waterproofing solution to address the water intrusion at the source. Our team installed a full perimeter drainage system using WaterGuard, which collects water from the basement walls and floor joint before it can spread across the floor. We also installed CleanSpace vapor barrier to help seal the area, control moisture, and create a cleaner, brighter basement environment.
With the new waterproofing system in place, worries about future basement water damage are now a thing of the past. The Annandale condo unit is clean, dry, better protected from water intrusion, and ready for occupancy. This project gave the community peace of mind and helped turn a problem space back into a usable rental unit.
This Lorton, VA homeowner was dealing with water in the basement, creating concerns about moisture, damage, and long-term protection for the home. Basement water intrusion can happen for several reasons, including hydrostatic pressure, foundation cracks, and water entering at the wall and floor joint. In this case, our team completed a full inspection and found that the basement needed a complete interior waterproofing system, along with foundation crack repair to stop water from entering through the damaged wall.
NV Waterproofing & Foundation Repair installed a full interior basement waterproofing system designed to collect water before it can spread across the basement floor and direct it to a reliable sump pump system. Our team also repaired the crack in the foundation wall to help seal the vulnerable area and reduce the risk of future water intrusion. This combination of basement waterproofing and foundation crack repair helped create a cleaner, drier, and better-protected basement.
After the waterproofing system was complete, the Lorton homeowner had peace of mind knowing their basement was protected from water seepage, foundation wall cracks, and future moisture problems. The finished result gave the home a stronger waterproofing solution and helped protect the basement from damage during future heavy rains.
After NV Waterproofing and Foundation Repair conducted a thorough free inspection at a Lorton, VA home, we identified several critical issues contributing to persistent basement water intrusion. The inspection revealed that the original stone patio and stairwell leading down to the basement door had an undersized drain unable to handle heavy rainfall, resulting in water pooling, overflowing, and seeping directly through the basement entryway. During the assessment, our team also noted signs of water damage and inadequate drainage away from the foundation. To address these problems, our basement waterproofing experts replaced the undersized drain with a significantly larger catch basin designed for increased water flow. We then installed a dedicated discharge line to efficiently direct stormwater away from the home’s foundation, reducing hydrostatic pressure and preventing future basement flooding. To further safeguard the property, we added the TripleSafe sump pump system—a robust, three-pump, battery-backed solution for exceptional redundancy and reliability, ensuring continuous basement protection even during power outages or severe storms. As a result of these targeted measures, the homeowner now enjoys a consistently dry basement, completely free from water intrusion through the basement door, regardless of rainfall intensity.
We addressed a customer's concern regarding a noisy sump pump during operation. To resolve the issue, we replaced their existing sump pump with a Triple Safe Sump Pump. This upgraded pump not only minimizes noise with its airtight lid but also provides additional protection against basement flooding by utilizing a battery backup system. The customer can now enjoy a quieter and more reliable sump pump solution.
