After NV Waterproofing and Foundation Repair conducted a thorough free inspection at a Lorton, VA home, we identified several critical issues contributing to persistent basement water intrusion. The inspection revealed that the original stone patio and stairwell leading down to the basement door had an undersized drain unable to handle heavy rainfall, resulting in water pooling, overflowing, and seeping directly through the basement entryway. During the assessment, our team also noted signs of water damage and inadequate drainage away from the foundation. To address these problems, our basement waterproofing experts replaced the undersized drain with a significantly larger catch basin designed for increased water flow. We then installed a dedicated discharge line to efficiently direct stormwater away from the home’s foundation, reducing hydrostatic pressure and preventing future basement flooding. To further safeguard the property, we added the TripleSafe sump pump system—a robust, three-pump, battery-backed solution for exceptional redundancy and reliability, ensuring continuous basement protection even during power outages or severe storms. As a result of these targeted measures, the homeowner now enjoys a consistently dry basement, completely free from water intrusion through the basement door, regardless of rainfall intensity.
We addressed a customer's concern regarding a noisy sump pump during operation. To resolve the issue, we replaced their existing sump pump with a Triple Safe Sump Pump. This upgraded pump not only minimizes noise with its airtight lid but also provides additional protection against basement flooding by utilizing a battery backup system. The customer can now enjoy a quieter and more reliable sump pump solution.
Water was entering this McLean, VA home via the front stoop and traveling down the foundation wall into the basement. In the before photo, you can see the evidence of water damage going down the back wall. We exposed this wall to the base of the footer and applied a liquid rubberized waterproofing sealant and drain board. This ensures that there will be no future water issues.
