Rich. T. was experiencing water seepage in the finished basement of his Purcellville, VA home, so he contacted NV Waterproofing to provide him with a possible solution to the problem. After assessing the situation, we proposed a full perimeter system of WaterGuard--paired with a TripleSafe sump pump-- along with the addition of CleanSpace vapor barrier, a WellDuct Window Drain, and 15' of additional exterior drainage line with IceGuard. This will ensure that the basement is well protected from any future water mishaps or damage.
Adam from Sterling, VA called NV Waterproofing after finding us during an internet search. Greg, our project design specialist, went out to Adam's home to provide him with a free on-site estimate for repairing a vertical crack in his foundation. After agreeing to the proposal he received, Adam hired us to install our product called FlexiSpan-a polyurethane sealant that will not dry or crack or allow water seep into his basement.
A homeowner in Leesburg was putting storage away in his basement when he noticed that there was water on the floor. After looking around, he found that water was coming in through the foundation wall and being absorbed by his insulation. A year or so before this, NV had performed foundation work for his home, so he called out his System Design Specialist to come have look at his next problem. This homeowner decided to move forward with a new WaterGuard system including our Foamax wall insulation and SuperSump. Now, this homeowner never has to worry about water damaging his insulation or stored items.
This Sterling homeowner was experiencing jammed windows and dry wall cracks in their kitchen. They learned that this was a result of foundation settlement. To stop these issues, they had Helical Piers installed. In this installation, there was no-machine access meaning the crew had to do a manual installation. Hard work!
The homeowner, who had been facing the recurring issue of water entering their garage, reached out to NV Waterproofing for a solution.
After carefully examining the source of the water infiltration, the team recommended the installation of a flo well and a trench drain as an effective solution. The flo well, will efficiently manage the standing water, preventing any further damage or inconvenience caused by the water accumulation. In addition, a trench drain was strategically placed in front of the garage entryway to divert excess water away from the area, ensuring a dry and safe entrance.
Aware of the importance of preventative measures, Oswaldo's crew also took the initiative to clean out the gutters. This proactive step would prevent future water-related issues by allowing smooth water flow and preventing any blockages that could lead to overflow and subsequent damage.
Once the installation was complete, the homeowner expressed immense satisfaction with the work done by the crew. They were relieved to see their garage protected from water intrusion, and they appreciated the professionalism and efficiency displayed throughout the process.
The homeowner discovered a worrisome horizontal crack spanning the entire side of their 1960's home. Additionally, they were concerned that the foundation settlement issue needed to be resolved before selling the property. With a move on the horizon, the homeowner sought both reassurance and potential solutions for the exterior issues. Our recommendation was to excavate and install a series of push piers, which would effectively lift the substantial foundation of the home and address the homeowner's problem.
The homeowner expressed concern about the significant amount of water discovered in the cinderblock basement walls. Initially, they attempted to troubleshoot the issue by inspecting the sump pump, but unfortunately, that wasn't the root cause of the problem. Our technical advisor conducted a thorough examination of the basement and identified hairline cracks in the foundation as the entry point for moisture. Additionally, they determined that the existing humidifier system, installed by another company, was not functioning optimally.
To address the immediate issue, we replaced the old system with a Sanidry system that effectively filters the air in the basement, reducing moisture levels and combating the problem at its source.
The customer voiced their worries about the considerable amount of water infiltrating through the foundation during rainstorms. They attributed this issue to stress cracks present on two walls, with a suspicion that more cracks could be lurking on other parts of their home's walls. Since their basement is currently unfinished, they realize that addressing these cracks is imperative before any renovation work can begin. The most viable solution appears to be injecting the cracks to prevent further seepage of water into the basement during rainy weather.
The customer, residing in Lovettsville, VA, was noticeably anxious about the state of the porch foundation attached to their home. Upon inspection, it was clear that the foundation required some attention to ensure long-term stability and safety. After a thorough evaluation of the situation and considering various options, our team recommended the use of Helical Piers to bolster and support the porch's foundation.
Our team embarked on a significant exterior waterproofing project in Lincoln, VA. The job was labor-intensive, requiring us to dig mostly by hand. Our first step was to excavate a trench, exposing the foundation wall from the ground level to the base of the footer. We then removed any dirt and debris from the wall and gave it a thorough cleaning.
Next, we focused on the foundation wall, sealing any cracks, seams, holes, and imperfections. We applied a layer of liquid rubberized waterproofing sealant to the sub-grade walls for added protection against water ingress. Once the sealant was in place, we installed a semi-rigid drain board on the treated walls, securing it with a termination bar. To ensure a watertight seal, we caulked the top of the termination bar.
We then installed a French drain system, embedding it in gravel, enclosing it with filter fabric, and ensuring it drained either to a sump pump or directly to the house's exterior area. After that, we backfilled, graded, and tamped the excavated area.
In addition to the primary waterproofing work, we also undertook several ancillary tasks. Where field conditions permitted, we buried downspouts under grade. We also installed a LawnScape outlet at the end of the discharge line and a Gutter Clean-out on the downspout extension.
Finally, to install Waterguard and/or Cleanspace, we had to remove drywall up to 32". However, our responsibility did not extend to replacing the removed drywall. This comprehensive approach ensured that the property was fully protected from potential water damage.
Customer had issues with water from the egress window installed in the basement of the home.
We recommended the installation of two new dedicated outlets for the new Triple Safe Sump pumps.
Furthermore, we suggested the installation of a SaniDry Sedona system. This system is highly regarded for its excellent performance in dehumidification and air purification. Installing this would help rectify the issue of egress window leakage by efficiently managing the humidity levels.
