Basement Waterproofing in Walkersville, MD
Challenge
After a period of heavy rain, a homeowner in Walkersville, MD discovered significant water intrusion on the lower level of their split-level home. Water was entering the basement and spreading across the floor, creating damp conditions, musty odors, and concerns about mold, property damage, and indoor air quality. Because the lower level was used as part of the home’s living space, the ongoing moisture problem made the area uncomfortable and nearly unlivable.
The homeowner needed more than a temporary cleanup. They needed a complete basement waterproofing solution that would control water entering the home, manage groundwater around the foundation, and continue protecting the property during severe storms and power outages.
Solution
After completing a thorough inspection, the team at NV Waterproofing & Foundation Repair installed a full interior and exterior basement waterproofing system. WaterGuard® was installed along the basement perimeter to collect water entering where the walls and floor meet and direct it toward the sump pump system. CleanSpace® wall vapor barrier was added to help control wall moisture, reduce humidity, and create a cleaner, brighter appearance throughout the lower level.
A TripleSafe™ sump pump system was installed to provide dependable water removal with multiple levels of protection. The system also included a battery backup pump, allowing it to continue operating if the home lost power during a heavy storm. IceGuard® fittings were added to the discharge line to help prevent water from backing up into the basement if the exterior line became frozen or blocked.
To further protect the property, our team installed an exterior drainage system designed to collect surface water and carry it safely away from the home’s foundation. With the interior waterproofing system, sump pump protection, and improved exterior drainage working together, the lower level is now dry, protected, and suitable for comfortable living once again.
