Charles from Dumfries VA called NV Waterproofing after searching on the internet for a local foundation repair company. He was noticing that two of his foundation walls in his basement had stair-step cracks and were starting to bow inward. This had Charles very concerned for his safety and for the structure of his home.
After listening to Charles concerns, we set up an appointment for a free on-site estimate. We sent one of our top system design specialists, Kevin, out to his home to give him a quote for the repairs. Kevin instantly knew exactly what was needed to solve the foundation issues.
Charles wound up needing 13 of our Power Braces installed in his basement. Our PowerBrace Foundation Wall Repair System stabilized his walls, preventing any further damage to occur. Since they are adjustable, our installation team was able to bring the walls back to their original position, and no exterior excavation was needed.
Luke W. of Dumfries, VA was experiencing walls that were starting to bow inwards in his basement, along with some water intrusion in one corner. He called NV Waterproofing to provide a potential solution for these issues, so Greg Keoho went out to provide an estimate. He proposed the addition of 7 PowerBraces and exterior waterproofing on the front of the house and in the corner where the water was observed to be entering the basement. The attached photo shows where the water was entering the basement.
The PowerBrace System consists of steel I-beams that anchor to the joists above the wall with steel brackets. It is easily adjustable, which allows it to be tightened over time to raise the wall back to its original position. What is unique about the PowerBrace system is that it involves no exterior excavation and installs quickly with minimal disruption to your basement.
With the addition of the PowerBraces and the exterior waterproofing, Luke. W.'s basement walls would be stabilized and any future water intrusion issues would be mitigated.
