Job Stories From Fairfax County, VA
Waterproofing Fix in Lorton, VA Basement

Gail O. was experiencing water issues in her unfinished basement. In her search for a solution, she called NV Waterproofing & Foundation Repair. Mauricio Carvalho went out to give her an idea of ways she could mitigate her water problems permanently.

He proposed the installation of a TripleSafe sump pump, accompanied by a CleanSpace Wall System, and WaterGuard. The CleanSpace wall system is a clean and durable vapor barrier for basement walls that helps to prevent water vapor from permeating into the basement, as well as draining any wall leaks that occur. WaterGuard is a piping system that intercepts water that appears along the perimeter of the basement and reroutes it back to the installed sump pump. All of these solutions work together to keep the basement dry and water free.

With these systems in place, Gail O. will be able to enjoy a dry, clean basement in her forever home for many years. NV Waterproofing & Foundation Repair is glad to have been able to finally solve Gail's reoccurring water issues.

Crawlspace Encapsulation with Debri Removal in Falls Church, VA

Before we could proceed with the encapsulation of the crawlspace in the homeowner's residence, we first had to deal with a significant amount of debris scattered there. This included old tiles, unused PVC pipes, cement blocks, and more. In order to lay the vapor barrier properly, it was crucial to have a clean and dry environment.

We dedicated ourselves to removing heaps of debris using bags and buckets until we had a suitable workspace. Following this, we installed drainage matting and then proceeded to put in place the Cleanspace vapor barrier.

Strengthening Foundations and Waterproofing Basements: A Job Story from Springfield, VA

In the charming town of Springfield, Virginia, sits a beautiful home that has stood the test of time for 40 years. However, as with any aging property, it began to show signs of wear and tear. The homeowner started noticing growing cracks on the foundation walls, a clear indication of settling over time. Recognizing the potential severity of the issue, they reached out to us for a comprehensive solution. Our technical advisor promptly arrived on the scene to conduct a thorough inspection of the property. Upon examination, it was evident that the home required some specialized care. The solution proposed was twofold: pier installation and crack injection. The piers, once installed, would provide robust support to the walls, effectively halting the progression of the cracks. The crack injection treatment, on the other hand, would fill and seal these existing flaws, restoring the integrity of the foundation. However, our mission to restore this home to its former glory didn't stop there. We also noticed that the basement had the potential for water intrusion. A dry, safe basement is critical to maintaining the overall health of a home. Therefore, we recommended the installation of a Triple Safe sump pump. This state-of-the-art system is designed to keep the basement dry, providing an added layer of protection against water-related issues. With these solutions in place, we've not only strengthened the foundation of this beautiful Springfield home but also ensured its basement remains dry and safe. The homeowner can now enjoy peace of mind knowing their beloved home is secure and protected against both foundational and water intrusion issues.

Wall Anchors for Horizontal Cracks in Burke, VA

A customer approached us with worries regarding their home's foundation, which was constructed from poured concrete. Over the past year, they had noticed unsettling horizontal cracks beginning to form along the structure. Understanding the potential risks and severity of foundation issues, we dispatched our technical advisor to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the property.

Upon arrival, our advisor meticulously inspected the foundation, carefully noting the extent and nature of the cracking. It was clear that immediate action was necessary to prevent further damage and ensure the structural integrity of the home. After considering various remediation strategies, the decision was made to implement a solution that would not only address the current damage but also offer long-term stability.

The proposed remedy involved the installation of seven Geo-Lock Anchors. These state-of-the-art anchoring systems are specifically designed for situations like this, providing the necessary support to counteract the forces causing the wall to bow and crack. The Geo-Lock Anchors work by extending deep into the stable soil beyond the affected wall, anchoring the foundation securely. Over time, the tension can be adjusted to gradually straighten the compromised wall, restoring it to its original position.

This approach offered several benefits. Not only would it stabilize the foundation, preventing further deterioration, but it also provided a non-invasive method of correcting the issue without the need for extensive excavation or disruption to the homeowner's daily life. Additionally, the use of Geo-Lock Anchors meant that the solution was both durable and adaptable, capable of adjusting to the home's needs over time.

The customer was relieved to have a clear path forward and appreciated the thoroughness of our investigation and the tailored solution we provided. With the Geo-Lock Anchors in place, they could rest assured knowing their home's foundation was secure and that the horizontal cracks would be addressed in a controlled and effective manner, safeguarding their home for years to come.

Our experienced foreman and professional installers got to work swiftly, adapting to the specific challenges presented by the property. First, we installed WaterGuard along the basement's perimeter to capture wall and floor seepage preventing it from reaching the interior space. Next, IceGuard was placed outside to safeguard against frozen discharge lines during cold snaps, ensuring water could always escape away from the foundation. CleanSpace, a durable and moisture-resistant liner, was applied to the walls for added protection and SuperSump, a top-of-the-line sump pump system, was installed to efficiently evacuate collected water from the basement. Throughout the project, our focus was not only on solving the immediate water intrusion issue but also on preventing future problems, completing the work with minimal disruption, and leaving the basement cleaner than when we started. As water problems in basements can manifest in different ways for homeowners, we're proud to say this comprehensive approach worked wonders in Fairfax. By the time we completed the installation, the homeowner was relieved to see their basement dry and fully protected
