In the past few years the prevalence and importance of air barrier solutions have increased tremendously in lock step with the heightened emphasis on environmentally safe and friendly construction practices.

The primary purpose of an air and vapor barrier system is to prevent air and vapor from leaking into and out of a building enclosure. An air and vapor barrier system reduces deterioration of building materials, the potential for mold growth, and energy requirements in a given building - all of which are adversely affected with the penetration of external air and vapor.

We install all products specified by architects for air and vapor barrier systems including, among other manufacturers: Henry, Carlisle, and Seaboard Asphalt.

NV Waterproofing delivers an alternative housewrap solution that is superior to traditional housewrap solutions.

Traditional housewrap solutions have at least three problems:

1. They trap moisture originally found in OSB sheathing (which is an alternative to plywood found in most new homes today) as it is drawn out from the wood on warm, dry days.
2. The application of traditional solutions with staples or nails creates hundreds, if not thousands, of penetrations that serve as openings for moisture.
3. Traditional solutions are applied awkwardly and ineffectively on returns for doors and windows.

NV Waterproofing applies TMC 2000, made by Deco Products, and Seaboard EF-400 which are liquid applied air and moisture barrier membrane.

These products:

1. Cure to a flexible, seamless membrane that provides a continuous air tight building envelope.
2. Bond permanently to substrates of wood (plywood, OSB, and framing), concrete, concrete block, metal, stucco, and rigid insulation.
3. Eliminate penetrations that traditional house wraps require.
4. Bond tightly against the surface with no seams, therefore preventing moisture formation on sheathing.
5. Remain unaffected by ultraviolet rays and contains no aromatic hydrocarbon solvents.
6. Allow moisture to escape due to an excellent water vapor perm rating.
